What is leadership really about?
That’s an easy one to answer! It is:
Habits. Rituals. Routines.
Nigel Botterill taught me this at the EC Convention about a decade ago.
Good books on this are:
“The Botty Rules” by Nigel Botterill – the habit of clarity
“The Five Steps to a Winning Mindset” by Damian Hughes – building a high performance coaching habit
“The Trusted Executive – Nine Leadership Habits” by Dr John Blakey – the essential habits a leader must excel at to build trust
“Mastering the Rockefeller Habits” by Verne Harnish – the habits of effective meetings and planning
“The Coaching Habit” by Michael Bungay Stanier – the habit of asking the right questions
“SYSTEMology” by David Jenyns – the habit of making your business robust and able to survive in the absence of key people
“The One Thing” by Gary Kellar – understanding what matters most right now
“Atomic Habits” by James Clear – a compelling read about the impact of every decision
“The Compound Effect” by Darren Hardy – as above but in a different style
Just reading a lot of books doesn’t mean I’ve mastered this completely! However, I have helped many others understand the significance of building great habits for leadership effectiveness.
I’ve also written a leadership book to help people learn from my learning, my experience and my huge investment in my own professional development.
My “leadership guide” is a how-to book with my own personal story as the introduction.
“Spend Time With Me – Store To Inspire Transformational Leaders”
https://lnkd.in/eg4wV2PM – foreword by Damian Hughes
I’d love to know what you learnt from any of the books above and wonder what you think of mine…
